Raised face flange

What is the benefit of a raised face in a flange? Different types of flange faces are used as the contact surfaces to seat the sealing gasket material. Choose from our selection of raised - face pipe flanges , including stainless steel pipe and pipe fittings, iron and steel pipe and pipe fittings, and more.

In stock and ready to ship. It is also a ideal choice when the media in pipeline is expensive, flammable or explosive. A raised face flange is compatible with a wide range of flange gaskets, ranging from flat to semi-metallic and metallic types (as, for example, jacketed gaskets and spiral wound gaskets), either ring or full face.

Faces are the mating surface of a flange , nozzle or valve. Flange faces have to be smooth enough to ensure they provide a tight, leak-free seal with the flanges are bolted together. With this face the whole contact face of the flange is machined flat. Raised Face (RF) - The Raised Face is most common of all flange faces. The flange has a raised area machined on the flange face equal to the contact area of a gasket.

Ring-type Joint (RTJ) - This is a form of flange face that is becoming obsolete. The following is chart data for ANSI B16. I´d like to know if it´s possible to mate ANSI B16.

I have carbon steel pipes with ANSI B16. A10 class 1and 3raised face flanges , and want to install betwen them OSY cast iron valves (ASTM A1class B) with ANSI B16. Which I suppose are the most common flanges for cast iron accesories). Bolt two flat-surface flanges or two raised -surface flanges of the same size together with a gasket (sold separately) to create an access point in a pipe line.

Flanges are for use with low-pressure applications in noncorrosive environments. These raised - face flanges can help to place a rim at the end of a pipe. They feature carbon steel construction, which is stronger than stainless steel, is very resistant to wear, and can withstand high pressure, but is also susceptible to corrosion.

There is a small portion extruded from the bottom face of the slip on flange , this type is raised face slip on flange. The function of this area is to place a gasket seat during installation to get a better sealing performance. As the pressure ratings bigger, the height of this raised face will be bigger. The gasket seat on this raised face. Raised face flange has a small portion around the bore is raised from the face.

The height of the raised face depends on the flange pressure-temperature rating that is known as a class of the flange. The inside bore circle type. Class 1Slip-On Flanges. The dimensions for a flat faced flange are the same as the dimenisions for a raised face flange but without the raised face.

The datasheets we have on this site are shown below. For simplicity sake, only datasheets that adhere to B16.
