The great gatsby book review

The novel is set during the roaring 20s in America, narrated by Nick Carraway, a man from a well-to-do family just out of fighting the war and looking to sell bonds.


The Great Gatsby is an American classic and a wonderfully evocative work.

Fitzgerald seems to have had a brilliant understanding of lives that are corrupted by greed and incredibly sad and unfulfille. Also, the character Tom Buchanan converses about books hethat represent bigoted views held by many whites at that time. The topics of the book are wealth, glamour, the side effects of these two, organized crimes and corruption. Gatsby’s story can be somewhat inspirational but not because of his success but mostly because of his mistakes. Thanks for the book review , Scott!


I’m embarrassed to admit that I have yet to read THE GREAT GATSBY. The author’s use of symbolism to play on the reader’s emotions makes this a relatable story. Also, Fitzgerald’s use of lavish imagery and a point of view narration captures the audience.


You can be taken with the language of this book , and be annoyed by the one big figurative MacGuffin this book offers.
